Punjab Schools Extend Winter Break Until January 13

Date:

Schools across Punjab will remain closed until January 13, following an announcement by the state’s Education Minister, Harjot Bains. The decision to extend the winter break was made due to prevailing cold weather and dense fog conditions impacting the region.

Reasons for Extended Closure

Minister Bains conveyed the extension via social media, emphasizing the continuous increase in cold temperatures and fog. The primary concern behind this directive is to ensure the well-being and safety of both students and staff members.

Scope of the Order

The revised holiday schedule impacts a broad range of educational establishments. This includes all government-run schools, aided institutions, officially recognized schools, and privately operated schools throughout Punjab. Originally, schools were slated to resume classes on January 8.
