Complaint Filed Against ASI in Noormahal Police Station
A surprising incident has come to light from Jalandhar, where an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has been booked at his own police station in connection with a road accident case.The matter has created discussion in police circles as the FIR was registered in the same police station where the officer had been serving for several years.
According to police officials, the accused ASI has been identified as Vijay Kumar, a resident of the Nakodar area. He was reportedly posted at Noormahal Police Station as a wireless operator. Police sources stated that he had been serving at Noormahal Police Station for several years.
Bike Rider Accuses ASI of Rash Driving
The case was registered after a complaint filed by Harpreet Singh, a resident of Kaccha Pakka Behra village. In his complaint, the victim alleged that the ASI was driving his car negligently and hit his motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
The complainant stated that the incident took place near Gurudwara Sahib at Teli Mod area when he was travelling on his motorcycle. Harpreet Singh was reportedly travelling on his motorcycle when the ASI’s car allegedly struck the bike due to careless driving.
Following the collision, the bike rider suffered minor injuries while the motorcycle was also damaged. Local residents gathered at the spot after the accident and later the matter was reported to the police.
Police Registered FIR Against ASI
After receiving the complaint, police officials initiated an investigation into the matter. SHO Labh Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered against ASI Vijay Kumar. The police stated that legal action will continue as per departmental rules and the law.
Officials further stated that departmental proceedings may also be initiated against the ASI as part of the ongoing inquiry. Police authorities said all legal procedures would be followed according to departmental rules.
