Ludhiana Railway Station Averts Major Mishap as Coach of Delhi–Vaishno Devi Train Breaks

Date:

Coach Damage Detected at Ludhiana Station, Disaster Narrowly Avoided

A major railway accident was averted at Ludhiana Railway Station after a coach of a train travelling from Delhi towards Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra suffered structural damage. The incident created panic among passengers and railway staff, but timely detection prevented what could have turned into a serious tragedy.

According to information received, the train had arrived at Ludhiana Railway Station and was preparing to depart for its onward journey. As the train started moving from the platform, railway personnel noticed that a section near the washroom area of one coach had become severely weakened and eventually broke away.

Hundreds of Passengers Were at Risk

Officials stated that three additional coaches were attached behind the damaged compartment. Nearly 500 passengers were travelling in these coaches at the time of the incident. The fact that the train was still within station limits played a crucial role in preventing a major disaster.

Railway sources indicated that if the damage had occurred while the train was travelling at high speed, the consequences could have been far more severe. The possibility of derailment or injuries to passengers could not be ruled out under such circumstances.

Panic at the Station After the Incident

The incident caused temporary chaos at Ludhiana Railway Station as passengers gathered to understand what had happened. Railway officials and technical staff rushed to the spot and immediately began inspecting the affected coach.

Passengers were asked to remain calm while authorities assessed the condition of the train. Safety checks were carried out to ensure that no other coach had suffered similar structural issues.

Railway Authorities Begin Investigation

Following the incident, railway officials initiated a detailed examination of the damaged coach. Technical teams are expected to determine whether the damage resulted from corrosion, maintenance issues, mechanical wear, or another technical fault.

The investigation will focus on identifying the exact cause and ensuring that similar incidents do not occur in the future. Railway authorities are likely to review maintenance records and inspection procedures related to the affected train.

Questions Raised Over Railway Safety

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of regular maintenance and safety inspections of passenger coaches. Railway experts believe that timely inspections are essential to identify structural weaknesses before trains begin their journeys.

Passengers have also demanded strict monitoring of coach conditions, particularly on long-distance routes carrying large numbers of pilgrims and tourists.

Timely Action Prevented a Major Tragedy

Despite the seriousness of the situation, no injuries were reported. The swift response by railway personnel and the fact that the train was still stationed at Ludhiana prevented a potentially devastating accident.

Authorities have assured passengers that safety remains the top priority and that all necessary measures will be taken following the investigation.
