India seal victory in Delhi Test

Team India defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in the second and final Test match held in Delhi. Chasing a modest target of 121 runs, India achieved the score with three wickets down on the final day. This victory gave India a clean 2-0 sweep in the two-match Test series.

Rahul shines with an unbeaten fifty

India started the final day at 63/1 and soon lost Sai Sudharsan (39) and captain Shubman Gill (13). However, KL Rahul anchored the chase with a solid unbeaten 58, including six fours and two sixes. Dhruv Jurel remained not out on six as India comfortably reached the target.

Dominant performance throughout the series

In the first Test, India had defeated West Indies by an innings and 140 runs. In the Delhi Test, India declared their first innings at 518/5. West Indies were bowled out for 248 in the first innings, forcing a follow-on. The visitors then scored 390 in their second innings, setting India a target of 121, which the hosts chased with ease.

Shubman Gill’s first series win as Test captain

This series marks Shubman Gill’s first victory as India’s Test captain. After drawing the last Test series 2-2 against England, Gill began his full-time captaincy career on a winning note, leading India to a clean sweep over West Indies. India will next face South Africa in a two-match Test series in November.
