Consulate in Dubai launches Global Passport Seva Programme (GPSP 2.0)

The Consulate General of India in Dubai has announced the rollout of the Global Passport Seva Programme (GPSP 2.0) for all passport services starting October 28, 2025. This upgraded version introduces chip-enabled e-passports and an enhanced online system for faster and smoother processing.

E-passports with embedded chips

Under the Passport Seva 2.0 system, e-passports will come with digitally embedded chips that store biometric and personal data. This technology ensures faster immigration clearance and enhanced security for travelers.

Upload ICAO-compliant documents online

Applicants can now upload ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation)-compliant photos, signatures, and documents directly via the Passport Seva (PSP) portal. This reduces waiting time at BLS International Centres and streamlines verification.

Easier corrections in applications

Minor errors in passport applications can now be corrected by the service provider directly — without the need to retype or resubmit the entire form. The feature is available at no extra charge.

How to apply for an e-passport — step-by-step guide

Step 1: Register on the Passport Seva portal by clicking “Register Now” on the homepage.
Step 2: Log in using your registered ID and password.
Step 3: Go to “Applicant Home Page” and select “Create New Application.”
Step 4: Fill out the form, submit it, and take a printout.
Step 5: Book an appointment at the BLS International Centre and visit with required documents.
