Diljit Dosanjh Receives Threat from Khalistani Group for Touching Amitabh Bachchan’s Feet on KBC

Date:

Controversy Sparks After KBC Appearance

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has landed in controversy after his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati, where he touched Amitabh Bachchan’s feet as a mark of respect. Following the episode, the Khalistani organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) issued threats to cancel Diljit’s upcoming November 1 concert in Australia, coinciding with the Sikh Genocide Remembrance Day declared by the Akal Takht Sahib.

Diljit of Betraying Sikh Victims

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a statement alleging that Amitabh Bachchan had instigated violence during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by chanting provocative slogans like “Khoon ka badla khoon”. Pannun claimed that by touching Bachchan’s feet, Diljit had “insulted every widow and orphan” who suffered in that tragedy, calling it an act of “ignorance and betrayal”.

Demand for Action from Akal Takht Sahib

Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Garghaj of Akal Takht Sahib, urging him to summon Diljit Dosanjh and seek clarification under the 2010 Takht Hukamnama, which designates November as Sikh Genocide Remembrance Month and November 1 as Remembrance Day.

Planned Protest in Australia

Plans to hold protests outside Diljit’s concert venue in Australia. The group has appealed to global Sikh institutions, artists, and fans to boycott collaborations with anyone linked to the 1984 riots.
Pannun stated, “We will not allow symbols of killers to share the stage with the memory of victims. Genocide remembrance is sacred — it cannot be commercialized or trivialized.”
