Flagging off the High-Speed Link
The border district of Firozpur celebrated the arrival of its first-ever Vande Bharat Express train connecting it directly to the national capital. At the launch ceremony, Union MoS for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu said the modern service marks a new era of development for the region and emphasised that the ruling party’s work in Punjab would now move at this pace.
Regional Development & Political Promise
Bittu stated that the train’s launch is not simply a transport upgrade but a clear signal of infrastructure commitment to Malwa and border areas of Punjab. He declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will drive further progress in the state “at this speed”, linking better connectivity with political momentum.
What the Train Brings for Passengers
The newly inaugurated Vande Bharat will significantly cut travel time between Firozpur and Delhi, offering modern coaches, improved amenities and enhanced comfort. Local residents hailed the train as a long-pending demand being fulfilled and a boost to trade, tourism and regional mobility.
Looking Ahead: Beyond Just Rails
Officials and party leaders present at the event indicated future plans go beyond the train: improvements to rail-links, station infrastructure, and economic integration of the border district were all on the agenda. The BJP’s promise is to translate this connectivity into broader state-level growth.
