Khalin Joshi Ends Title Drought With Dominant Andhra Open 2026 Win

Date:

Historic Victory After Long Wait

Indian golfer Khalin Joshi finally ended his long title drought with a commanding performance at the Andhra Open 2026. The Bengaluru-based professional clinched the title with a four-shot victory, marking his seventh career win and his first triumph in over three and a half years.

Joshi finished the tournament with an impressive score of nine-under 275, showcasing consistency and composure throughout the event. His last victory came in August 2022, making this win a significant milestone in his professional journey.

Final Round Performance Seals the Title

Entering the final round with a three-shot lead, Joshi maintained control despite early pressure. He carded a solid round of 69, including five birdies and three bogeys, which was enough to keep his competitors at bay.

Although he dropped a shot early in the round, he quickly recovered with a birdie on the fourth hole. Crucial moments, including steady play on the back nine and a key birdie on the 15th, ensured he stayed ahead comfortably.

Strong Competition and Standout Performances

Akshay Sharma finished as the runner-up with a remarkable performance, including a course-record round of 65. He ended the tournament at five-under 279, but Joshi’s consistency kept him out of reach.

Other notable players included Saptak Talwar and Yash Majmudar, who secured joint third place with strong overall performances.

Rise in Rankings and Prize Money Boost

With this victory, Joshi earned a prize of ₹15 lakh and made a significant leap in the DP World PGTI Order of Merit rankings, climbing from 55th to 12th position.

This win not only boosts his confidence but also re-establishes him as a strong contender on the Indian golf circuit.

What’s Next in the Tour

Following the Andhra Open, the tour will move to Hyderabad for the upcoming Boulders Classic. With his form and confidence restored, Joshi will aim to continue his momentum in the next events.
