Shocking Incident at Goregaon NESCO Ground

A tragic incident has shaken Mumbai aftaer two young MBA students lost their lives due to a suspected drug overdose during a live music concert held at Goregaon’s NESCO exhibition ground. The event, attended by thousands of youngsters, turned into a scene of panic and chaos late at night.

According to reports, the incident occurred on April 11, when around 3,000 to 4,000 people had gathered for the concert. What began as a lively music event soon turned grim as several attendees started experiencing breathing difficulties and health complications.

Victims and Medical Emergency

The deceased include a 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both MBA students from a reputed institute. Reports suggest that another young woman is currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment in the ICU.

Several others also reportedly fell ill during the event, allegedly due to excessive consumption of alcohol and synthetic drugs. Emergency services rushed multiple individuals to nearby hospitals as their condition deteriorated rapidly.

Preliminary investigations indicate that banned substances, possibly synthetic drugs like MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), were consumed during the concert. However, authorities have clarified that the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after forensic and medical reports are completed.

Witnesses revealed that some attendees had taken drugs even before entering the venue, raising serious concerns about security lapses and drug circulation at such large-scale events.

Police Action and Arrests

Mumbai Police have taken swift action and arrested five individuals in connection with the case. The arrested include event organizers and individuals allegedly involved in supplying drugs.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities are currently investigating the supply chain and how drugs were allowed inside the venue.
