Expelled from Akali Dal Over Anti-Party Activities

Jagdeep Singh Cheema, former district in-charge of Shiromani Akali Dal in Fatehgarh Sahib, was recently expelled from the party due to anti-party activities. Following this, he decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with several of his supporters.

The joining ceremony was attended by Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini, and MP Ravneet Bittu. Cheema’s decision marks a significant political shift in the region.

Political Background of Jagdeep Singh Cheema

Jagdeep Singh Cheema has previously served as the district in-charge of Shiromani Akali Dal. He contested elections from the Amloh constituency in 2012 and from Fatehgarh Sahib constituency in 2022. His move to BJP strengthens the party’s position in Punjab ahead of upcoming political developments.
