Skoda Slavia Facelift Set for India Launch Soon: Check Expected Design, Features, and Upgrades

Date:

Spy Shots Reveal Refreshed Styling and Major Cabin Upgrades

Czech automaker Skoda is gearing up to introduce the mid-life facelift for its popular midsize sedan, the Slavia, in India. Ahead of its official debut, testing mules of the upcoming sedan have been spotted on Indian roads, revealing key design enhancements and interior upgrades. The Skoda Slavia facelift aims to give the sedan a sharper aesthetic while aligning its design language and feature package with the recently updated Kushaq SUV.

The spy images reveal subtle yet impactful exterior updates. Up front, the new Slavia gets a revised grille—likely featuring an integrated illuminated light strip—along with reshaped LED headlights and a sportier front bumper with a larger air intake dam. While the sleek side silhouette remains unchanged, it sports a fresh set of stylish alloy wheels. At the rear, the sedan is expected to sport updated LED tail lamps connected by a modern light bar, alongside a redesigned rear bumper.

Enhanced Interior Comfort, Tech Updates, and ADAS Safety Features

Inside the cabin, the Skoda Slavia facelift receives meaningful technological and comfort enhancements. Visuals from spy shots confirm that the updated model incorporates a new 10.25-inch fully digital driver display alongside a free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with an updated user interface and AI-driven voice assistant capabilities. To elevate passenger comfort, Skoda is expected to introduce front parking sensors, rear-seat massage functions, revised upholstery, and new interior trim materials.

In terms of safety, the facelifted sedan will come standard with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a reverse camera. Furthermore, higher-spec variants are anticipated to introduce Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking, giving it a strong competitive edge in its class.

Familiar Turbo-Petrol Engines with a New Automatic Transmission

Under the hood, the Skoda Slavia facelift will retain its proven line-up of turbocharged petrol engines. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI petrol engine continues to produce 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, while the performance-oriented 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol engine outputs 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque.

The biggest mechanical upgrade lies in the transmission options for the 1.0-litre TSI engine, where a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is set to replace the older 6-speed automatic unit, offering smoother gear shifts and improved overall fuel efficiency. The 6-speed manual transmission for the 1.0L engine and the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission for the 1.5L engine will continue unchanged. Upon launch, the Skoda Slavia facelift will reignite its rivalry against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Volkswagen Virtus in the Indian market.
