Viral ‘Kumbh Mela Girl’ Monalisa Bhosle Marries Muslim Actor Farman Khan In Kerala

Date:

Who Is Monalisa Bhosle?

Monalisa Bhosle, popularly known as the “Kumbh Mela Girl,” rose to nationwide fame after a viral video from the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. In the video, she was seen selling Rudraksha garlands while interacting with visitors. Her striking eyes and simple appearance quickly caught the attention of social media users, making her an overnight internet sensation.

Originally from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Monalisa soon became widely recognized online and began receiving opportunities in the entertainment industry. Her journey from a simple vendor at a religious fair to a social media celebrity has inspired many and kept her frequently in the news.

Monalisa Bhosle Marries Farman Khan

Recently, Monalisa made headlines again after marrying actor and model Farman Khan. The couple tied the knot on March 11, 2026, in a traditional ceremony held at the Arumanoor Sri Nainar Deva Temple near Poovar in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Videos and pictures from the wedding ceremony quickly went viral across social media platforms. In the visuals, Monalisa is seen wearing a red saree while Farman performs Hindu wedding rituals, including applying sindoor and tying a sacred thread around her neck. The ceremony was attended by several well-wishers and supporters.

Interfaith Marriage Draws Attention

The marriage attracted significant public attention because Monalisa is Hindu while Farman Khan is Muslim. The couple’s interfaith union triggered discussions online and sparked mixed reactions on social media.

Despite the controversy, Monalisa clarified that the marriage was performed according to Hindu traditions and that there was no religious conversion involved. She also emphasized that the relationship was based on mutual respect and personal choice.

The couple reportedly met several months ago through social media and their friendship gradually turned into a romantic relationship.

Family Opposition And Police Protection

Reports suggest that Monalisa faced strong opposition from her family regarding the relationship. Her father allegedly wanted her to return home and marry someone else chosen by the family.

Due to the tension, Monalisa and Farman approached the Thampanoor Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram seeking protection before their wedding. Police later confirmed that Monalisa was legally an adult and had the right to decide her life partner.

After receiving assistance from authorities, the couple proceeded with their wedding ceremony at the temple.

What The Couple Said After Marriage

After the wedding, Monalisa told reporters that the decision to marry Farman Khan was entirely her own. She said she respects all religions and rejected allegations that the marriage was related to any controversial agenda.

Farman Khan also praised Kerala for being supportive and welcoming toward their relationship. The couple reportedly plans to settle in Kerala in the future while continuing their careers in the entertainment industry.

Monalisa’s story—from selling Rudraksha beads at a religious fair to becoming a viral sensation and now starting a new life with her partner—continues to capture public attention across the country.
