Armed Miscreants Storm Trader’s House at Night
A shocking murder and robbery incident has created panic in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, where a chilli trader was brutally killed after armed criminals broke into his house late at night.
According to police sources, the crime took place in Gondi Kheda Charan village under Rajod police station limits. The victim, identified as chilli trader Devkrishna Purohit, was attacked by a group of unidentified miscreants who reportedly entered the house between 1 am and 2 am while the trader and his wife were asleep.
The sudden attack left the family terrified and has sparked concern among local residents over safety and rising criminal activity in the region.
Criminals Took Couple Hostage
Reports suggest that around eight to ten armed criminals barged into the house and immediately overpowered the trader and his wife. The attackers allegedly assaulted the couple and held them hostage inside the house.
During the incident, the accused locked the trader’s wife in a separate room and demanded information about cash and jewellery kept inside the house.
Despite the victim’s wife reportedly telling the attackers to take whatever valuables they wanted, the criminals continued their violent assault on the trader.
Trader Brutally Beaten to Death
The attackers reportedly dragged Devkrishna Purohit into another room where they gagged him by stuffing cotton in his mouth and then beat him brutally.
Due to the severe injuries caused during the assault, his condition deteriorated rapidly. Family members rushed him to the Community Health Centre in Sardarpur, but doctors declared him dead shortly after arrival.
The brutal nature of the attack has shocked the local community, with many demanding stronger law enforcement and faster action against criminals.
Loot Worth Lakhs After Murder
After carrying out the attack, the criminals reportedly fled from the scene with cash and jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees.
The family informed the police soon after the incident. Law enforcement teams, including senior officers, forensic experts and a dog squad, reached the spot to examine the crime scene and collect evidence.
Officials said the attackers managed to escape before police arrived, and efforts are underway to identify and trace them.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have launched a full-scale investigation into the case. Authorities are examining possible motives behind the attack, including robbery and any personal rivalry.
Security has been increased in the area and investigators are questioning nearby residents and checking surveillance footage to gather clues.
The incident has triggered fear among traders and residents, who are demanding stricter security measures and swift justice for the victim.
Police officials have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and strict action will be taken once they are identified.
