Deadly Overnight Strikes Across Ukraine
Russia launched a massive overnight assault using missiles and drones targeting multiple Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro. According to officials, at least 16 people were killed and several others injured in one of the most intense attacks in recent weeks.
The strikes caused widespread panic and destruction, as explosions were reported across residential areas. Emergency services rushed to affected locations, while rescue operations continued amid fears that the death toll could rise further.
Civilian Casualties, Including a Child
Among those killed was a 12-year-old child in Kyiv, highlighting the severe human cost of the ongoing conflict. In the capital, at least four people lost their lives when missiles struck residential buildings.
In Odesa, a key port city in southern Ukraine, around nine people were reported dead following direct hits on civilian infrastructure. The attacks damaged homes, buildings, and essential facilities, leaving many families displaced.
Widespread Damage and Rising Toll
Authorities confirmed that missiles and drones struck densely populated areas, intensifying concerns over civilian safety. Fires broke out in multiple locations, and several buildings were either destroyed or severely damaged.
Officials warned that the casualty count could increase as rescue teams continue to search through debris. Hospitals in affected cities are treating dozens of injured individuals.
Escalation in Ongoing Conflict
The latest strikes are part of the continuing Russia-Ukraine war, which has seen repeated aerial assaults on Ukrainian cities. Ukrainian officials have condemned the attacks, calling them deliberate strikes on civilian targets.
International leaders have also expressed concern over the growing intensity of attacks, urging stronger global action to prevent further escalation.
