Gratitude for Permission to Visit Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib
Chandigarh, October 2, 2025: Delhi Cabinet Minister and former President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Manjinder Singh Sirsa, has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for granting permission to Sikh Jathas to visit Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab.
Sirsa said this decision reflects deep respect for Sikh sentiments and reinforces the community’s faith, identity, and spiritual belonging.

In his statement, Sirsa emphasized that despite the political environment, PM Modi’s decision shows his commitment to honouring Sikh traditions and ensuring their voices are respected.
He added that this step has brought immense peace and joy to countless devotees while strengthening their spiritual bond with Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s legacy.
Sirsa also thanked Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that his role in the approval process has given confidence and happiness to the Sikh community worldwide.
Appeal to Sikh Community for Timely Document Submission
Sirsa urged Sikh devotees who wish to join the Jathas to submit their travel documents before October 22 for quick processing and sanctioning by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
He noted that Jathas sent by SGPC, DSGMC, Takht Sri Patna Sahib, and other Sikh organizations will be permitted for this sacred visit, provided their documents are submitted on time.
Coordination with State Governments
The Ministry of Home Affairs has already informed the Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand about this decision, ensuring smooth coordination for the upcoming pilgrimage.
