Suvendu Adhikari Warns Illegal Bangladeshi Infiltrators, Calls For Fast Deportation

Date:

Rising Concerns Over Border Infiltration in West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has sparked a major political debate after issuing a sharp warning to alleged illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state. During a public interaction, Adhikari reportedly said, “Jaldi jaldi bhago nahi toh…” while emphasizing that strict action would be taken against illegal immigrants staying in West Bengal without valid documents.

The statement comes amid increasing discussions around border security and illegal infiltration along the India-Bangladesh border. The Bengal government has recently intensified its “detect, delete and deport” campaign aimed at identifying undocumented foreign nationals and removing them from official records.

Government Pushes ‘Detect, Delete and Deport’ Policy

According to reports, the state administration has instructed various agencies, including police and border authorities, to strengthen surveillance in sensitive border districts. Officials have also been directed to identify infiltrators who are allegedly residing illegally in different parts of the state.

Adhikari stated that individuals who do not fall under the provisions of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and are found staying illegally could be handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF) for deportation procedures. The government is also reportedly monitoring deportation records directly from border agencies.

The Chief Minister further stressed that the administration would not allow unauthorized infiltration to affect the state’s security or demographic balance. His comments have generated strong political reactions from opposition parties and civil society groups.

Political Reactions Intensify Across Bengal

The BJP leadership has defended the government’s stand, claiming the move is necessary to protect national security and strengthen border management. Party leaders argued that illegal infiltration has remained a long-standing issue in border districts of West Bengal.

However, opposition parties criticized the remarks, calling them aggressive and politically motivated. Critics alleged that such statements may increase social tension and polarization ahead of upcoming political developments in the state.

Political analysts believe the issue of infiltration and border security is likely to remain a major topic in West Bengal politics over the coming months. The matter has also drawn national attention due to the sensitive nature of India-Bangladesh border relations.

Focus on Border Security and Monitoring

Recent government meetings reportedly focused on increasing vigilance at railway stations and transit points to identify suspected infiltrators. Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials were also asked to stay alert and coordinate with security agencies when necessary.

The Bengal government has indicated that it plans to continue its monitoring efforts in coordination with central agencies. Authorities believe stronger border enforcement measures are needed to curb illegal entry into the country.

As political reactions continue to grow, the controversy surrounding Adhikari’s warning has once again placed the issue of illegal immigration and border security at the center of public debate in West Bengal.
