India Takes 1-0 Lead in Two-Match Test Series

Team India showcased a dominant performance against West Indies in the 1st Test, winning the match by an innings and 140 runs. With this victory, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

On Day 3, the West Indies were bowled out for 146 runs in 45.1 overs in their second innings. Key contributions came from Alick Athanaze (38 runs), Justin Greaves (25 runs), and Jaden Seales (22 runs). The rest of the batting lineup struggled against India’s formidable bowling attack: Johann Leen (14), John Campbell (14), Tejnarayan Chandrapaul (8), Brendan King (5), Roston Chase (1), Shai Hope (1), while Khaury Pierre remained unbeaten on 13.


Ravindra Jadeja Shines with Bat and Ball

India’s Ravindra Jadeja once again demonstrated his all-round abilities. He scored a not out century in the first innings and claimed 4 wickets in West Indies’ second innings.

Other notable performances include:

  • Mohammed Siraj: 3 wickets

  • Kuldeep Yadav: 2 wickets

  • Washington Sundar: 1 wicket

  • Jasprit Bumrah: no wickets in the second innings


India’s First Innings Dominance

Earlier, India declared their first innings at 448/5, gaining a 286-run lead. West Indies were bowled out for 162 runs in their first innings, giving India a significant advantage and setting up a dominant position in the match.


Upcoming 2nd Test in New Delhi

The second and final Test of the series will start on October 10 in New Delhi, where India will aim for a clean sweep.
