India’s Dominant Win Over Arch-Rivals Pakistan

In the Women’s ODI World Cup, Team India secured a convincing 88-run victory against Pakistan.

Chasing a target of 248 runs set by India, the Pakistan team was bowled out for 159 runs in 43 overs. For Pakistan, Sidra Ameen was the standout performer, scoring 81 runs. On the Indian side, Deepti Sharma and Kranti Gaur each took three wickets.

Earlier, India posted a total of 247 runs in their 50 overs, with Richa Ghosh contributing a valuable 35-run knock. However, the match sparked controversy on social media regarding the toss decision.

Adding to the drama, play was briefly halted due to swarming insects on the field. At that moment, India’s score was 154 for four in 34 overs. The flying insects caused difficulty for both batters and bowlers as they hovered around the players’ faces and eyes.

Pakistan’s Struggle in the Chase

Chasing 248, Pakistan had a disastrous start, losing three wickets for just 26 runs in 11.1 overs. Sidra Ameen and Natalia Parvaiz then attempted to stabilize the innings, adding 69 runs for the fourth wicket before Kranti Gaur dismissed Natalia for 33.

Deepti Sharma soon took the crucial wicket of Fatima Sana, who scored only 2 runs. Despite the regular fall of wickets, Sidra Ameen held one end firmly. Sidra Nawaz contributed 14 runs before being dismissed by Sneh Rana.

Sidra Ameen was looking strong and approaching her century, but she was dismissed for 81 by Sneh Rana. Later, Deepti Sharma dismissed Rameen Shamim for a duck, wrapping up the innings.

For India, Kranti Gaur delivered a brilliant spell, taking three wickets for just 20 runs in 10 overs. Deepti Sharma also picked up three wickets, while Sneh Rana took two.

India’s all-round performance ensured a comprehensive victory and a strong start to their World Cup campaign.
