Railway Department Announces Block Between Jalandhar Cantt and Chehru Stations

Firozpur (Malhotra): The Firozpur Railway Division has announced a temporary block on the Sahnewal-Amritsar section between Jalandhar Cantt and Chehru stations from October 12 to 14. The purpose of this block is to accelerate the construction work of the overbridge at Railway Crossing No. S-70. According to Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sanjeev Kumar, a total of 13 trains will be affected during this period.

List of Affected Trains and Delays

  • October 12:

    • Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus–Amritsar Express will reach Amritsar 90 minutes late.

  • October 13:

    • Purnia Court–Amritsar Express – 60 minutes delay

    • Jaynagar–Amritsar Express – 60 minutes delay

    • Katra–Ambedkar Nagar Express – 70 minutes delay

    • Amritsar–Kanpur Central Express – 60 minutes delay

    • Amritsar–Jaynagar Express – 70 minutes delay

    • Amritsar–Nangal Dam Express – 40 minutes delay

    • Katra–Bandra Terminus Express – 40 minutes delay

October 14 – Train Diversions and Cancellations

  • New Delhi–Amritsar Express will be short-terminated at Phagwara and will return to New Delhi from there.

  • New Delhi–Lohian Khas Express will be diverted via Phillaur–Nakodar route instead of Ludhiana–Jalandhar City.

  • Amritsar–Ajmer Express will be diverted via Kapurthala–Lohian Khas instead of Jalandhar City–Ludhiana–Firozpur route.

Passengers traveling during these dates are advised to check the latest train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience. The Railway Department aims to complete the construction work efficiently and restore normal train services as soon as possible.
