Asian Games 2026: India Add More Medals on Day 6 as Rowing and Wushu Deliver

India’s campaign at the 2026 Asian Games continued on Thursday, September 24, with medal-winning performances in rowing and wushu. Roshibina Devi secured silver, while the men’s rowing pair of Satnam Singh and Salman Khan claimed bronze.

India continued its pursuit of medals at the 2026 Asian Games on Day 6, with athletes competing across several disciplines, including rowing, wushu, shooting and athletics.

The day’s action brought fresh success for the Indian contingent, as the country’s athletes added to the medal tally and kept the momentum going in the continental competition.

Roshibina Devi Wins Silver in Wushu

Indian wushu star Roshibina Devi Naorem secured the silver medal in the women’s 60kg sanda event. She faced China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the final, adding another medal to India’s growing collection at the Games.

Roshibina’s performance provided another significant result for India in the martial arts competition.

Satnam Singh and Salman Khan Claim Rowing Bronze

India also celebrated a podium finish in rowing, with Satnam Singh and Salman Khan winning bronze in the men’s double sculls event.

The duo delivered a strong performance in the final, helping India add another medal to its Day 6 tally.

Rowing remained one of the key events for India, with several athletes and crews competing in different categories during the day’s schedule.

Shooting Contingent Looks for More Success

Indian shooters were also in action, with the men’s 10m air pistol event among the key competitions on the schedule.

Akash Bharadwaj, Kamaljeet and Kedarling Balakrishna Uchaganve represented India in the event, while Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal competed in mixed-team skeet.

Shooting has already contributed multiple medals to India’s campaign, making it an important discipline to watch as the competition progresses.

Athletics Campaign Begins for India

Day 6 also marked the beginning of India’s athletics campaign, with several track and field athletes preparing to compete.

Asha Ilango and Niharika Vashisht were scheduled to participate in the women’s triple jump final, while Seema was set to compete in the women’s 10,000m final.

Meanwhile, sprinters Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh began their men’s 100m campaigns.

The athletics events are expected to provide India with further opportunities to compete for podium finishes as the Asian Games continue.
