Recent reports indicated that actor Ranveer Singh had decided to step away from the upcoming film ‘Don 3’. However, fresh details now suggest a different scenario: Singh was reportedly removed from the project by its makers. This decision is attributed to alleged inappropriate demands made by the actor and creative differences between him and the production team.
Reasons for Departure
India Today, citing informed sources, clarified that the news of Ranveer Singh voluntarily leaving ‘Don 3’ was unfounded speculation. The sources confirmed that the filmmakers and the actor experienced significant creative disagreements. Ultimately, the production team chose to remove Singh from the film, as they were unable to agree to his demands.
Despite a series of three consecutive commercial failures for Ranveer Singh’s previous films, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had reportedly offered him the opportunity for ‘Don 3’. This support came even after director Sanjay Leela Bhansali cancelled his film ‘Baiju Bawra’ following Singh’s underperforming projects.
Future Endeavors and Production Plans
According to reports from Pinkvilla two days prior, sources close to the actor revealed Ranveer Singh’s aspiration to collaborate with prominent filmmakers such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee. Furthermore, he reportedly wished to avoid consecutive roles in the gangster film genre, especially after his work in ‘Dhurandhar’ had already established him within that space.
Consequently, Singh requested producer Jay Mehta to prioritize the shooting of his film ‘Pralay’. Following his exit from ‘Don 3’, Ranveer is actively involved in arranging the dates and schedule for Jay Mehta’s project to ensure a swift production. Meanwhile, the makers of ‘Don 3’ are still aiming to commence filming by the end of January 2026 and have initiated the search for a new lead actor for the highly anticipated movie.
