Massive Fire Breaks Out at Gaur Green Avenue Flats in Ghaziabad

Date:

A massive fire broke out at the residential society Gaur Green Avenue in Indirapuram on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among residents. The blaze reportedly started in a flat located on an upper floor and quickly spread to adjacent levels due to strong winds and combustible materials.

Thick black smoke was seen billowing into the sky, visible from nearby areas, alarming people across the locality. Residents rushed out of the building in fear, while some were temporarily trapped before rescue operations began.

Fire Spreads Across Multiple Floors

Initial reports suggest that the fire originated around the ninth floor and rapidly spread to higher floors, affecting multiple flats in the high-rise tower. Several units were gutted in the blaze, with estimates ranging from 10 to over 12 flats severely damaged.

Videos circulating online show flames engulfing balconies and windows, highlighting the intensity of the fire and the challenges faced by emergency responders.

Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts

Fire department teams responded swiftly after receiving distress calls. Multiple fire tenders were deployed to control the situation, and firefighters worked continuously to prevent further spread.

Rescue operations were carried out to evacuate residents safely. In some cases, families trapped inside flats were successfully brought out without injuries. Authorities confirmed that no casualties had been reported at the time of filing the report.

Possible Cause of Fire

While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, preliminary reports indicate that it may have been triggered by a short circuit in an air conditioner. Officials have not yet confirmed this, and a detailed inquiry is underway.

Concerns Over Fire Safety

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about fire safety measures in high-rise residential buildings in Ghaziabad. Questions are being asked about the availability and functioning of fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and preparedness of housing societies.

Authorities are expected to conduct inspections and ensure compliance with fire safety norms to prevent such incidents in the future.
