15 People Killed in Bilaspur Landslide Accident

A tragic landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday claimed the lives of 15 people after a private bus was swept away. According to Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, a rescue operation is underway, and 18 people have been rescued so far, three of whom have been hospitalized. Authorities are still confirming the total number of passengers, estimated to be between 25 and 30.


PM Modi and CM Sukhu Express Deep Grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Each deceased’s family will receive ₹2 lakh, while the injured will get ₹50,000. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also expressed condolences and stated that relief and rescue operations are being conducted at a war footing level.


Heavy Rain and Snowfall Disrupt Normal Life

Over the past two days, Himachal Pradesh and other hilly regions have experienced continuous rain and snowfall, severely disrupting daily life. On Tuesday, light rainfall and drizzle were reported in Manali, Chamba, Mandi, and nearby areas.


Political Leaders Offer Condolences

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed deep grief over the incident, calling it “heartbreaking and unfortunate.” He assured that the state government is conducting rescue operations with full dedication and that Chief Minister Sukhu is personally monitoring the situation.
