India Is a Country Iran Cannot Afford to Ignore: UAE Ambassador

Date:

India’s Role in West Asia Crisis Becomes Crucial

Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, the United Arab Emirates’ ambassador to India, Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, emphasized that India’s voice carries significant weight in regional diplomacy. According to him, Iran cannot afford to ignore India’s influence when it comes to resolving conflicts in the region.

In an interview in New Delhi, the ambassador highlighted that India has become an important global player whose diplomatic interventions can help ease tensions. He stressed that the ongoing conflict in West Asia requires immediate international attention and meaningful action to prevent further escalation.

UAE Criticizes Continued Attacks in the Region

Alshaali strongly criticized the continued attacks attributed to Iran in the Gulf region. He said that while diplomatic statements are important, real actions on the ground are necessary to bring stability.

The ambassador explained that the UAE values practical measures over diplomatic rhetoric. Despite multiple calls for peace and restraint, the attacks have continued, making it clear that stronger steps are required to reduce tensions. According to him, genuine de-escalation means an immediate and unconditional halt to all attacks.

Narendra Modi’s Call for Peace Carries Global Impact

The ambassador also praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for urging calm and de-escalation during the crisis. He noted that when India calls for peace or expresses solidarity with partners like the UAE, the message resonates internationally.

He further stated that India’s strong bilateral relationship with the UAE gives New Delhi greater diplomatic leverage in the region. Because of this partnership, India’s appeals for restraint and dialogue are taken seriously by global and regional actors.

International Community Must Act

The UAE has also called on the global community to take a stronger stand against the attacks. The ambassador urged the United Nations Security Council to condemn the strikes and take steps to prevent such incidents in the future.

He added that under international law, the UAE has every right to take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and national security.

Background of the West Asia Escalation

The statement from the UAE ambassador comes at a time when tensions in West Asia are at a peak. On February 28, joint military strikes reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Following this, Iran launched retaliatory strikes targeting several U.S. and Israeli installations across Gulf countries, intensifying the regional crisis.

The developments have raised global concerns about a broader conflict in the Middle East. Many countries, including India, are urging restraint and dialogue to prevent the situation from spiraling into a wider war.
