A tragic road accident has shocked residents in the Guru Nanak Pura area of Jalandhar after a seven-year-old girl lost her life when a car ran over her while she was playing outside her home. According to reports, the young girl was playing in the street near her house when the accident occurred. The driver of the car allegedly failed to notice the child while turning the vehicle, resulting in the fatal collision. The victim died on the spot due to the severe injuries caused by the impact.
The deceased child has been identified as Radhika, a resident of the Guru Nanak Pura locality. Family members and neighbors were devastated by the sudden loss of the young girl.
Accident Occurred While Driver Was Turning the Car
Initial investigations revealed that the accused driver had come from another city to meet a relative living in the Guru Nanak Pura West area. While maneuvering the car in the narrow street, the driver reportedly did not notice the child who was playing nearby.
As the driver attempted to turn the vehicle, the girl came under the wheels of the car. People nearby rushed to rescue her, but unfortunately she had already succumbed to her injuries.
Local residents immediately informed the police, who reached the spot soon after receiving the information.
CCTV Footage Captures Entire Incident
Police officials stated that the accident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage reportedly shows the girl playing in the lane while the driver was reversing and turning the car.
Another person was seen assisting the driver in turning the vehicle. However, despite the help, the driver allegedly failed to notice the child and the tragic accident occurred.

Police Register Case and Arrest Driver
Following the incident, the police registered a case against the driver under relevant sections of the law dealing with rash and negligent driving.
The accused has been identified as Jaswinder Pal Singh, a 45-year-old resident of Moga. Police officials confirmed that he has been taken into custody and the vehicle involved in the accident has been seized.
Investigating officer Satnam Singh said that further legal action is being taken under the applicable provisions related to negligence and causing death by a rash act.
