Juhi Chawla Tops the List of Richest Actresses in India
In the 1990s, Bollywood was dominated by leading actresses like Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol, and Juhi Chawla. While many stars from that era continue to remain popular, Juhi Chawla has emerged as India’s richest actress, with an empire worth ₹7,790 crore.
Despite not working in films for the last two years, Juhi continues to grow her wealth through business ventures, real estate, and investments. According to the Hurun India Rich List 2025, Juhi Chawla and her family’s wealth increased by 69% compared to last year, with her annual income standing at ₹3,190 crore.
Majority of Wealth from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
A major portion of Juhi Chawla’s income comes from her stake in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), one of the most valuable franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). She co-owns KKR along with her longtime friend and co-star Shah Rukh Khan (Red Chillies Entertainment) and her husband Jay Mehta (Mehta Group).
Following KKR’s IPL 2024 championship win, the brand value of the franchise skyrocketed. As per Houlihan Lokey’s IPL Brand Valuation Study (June 2024), the league’s total valuation hit ₹1.45 lakh crore, with KKR alone valued at ₹1,915 crore.
Comparison with Other Bollywood Celebrities
While Juhi is the richest actress in Indian cinema, in the overall actors’ list, she still ranks below Shah Rukh Khan, whose empire is valued at ₹12,490 crore. However, Juhi Chawla has surpassed many other top celebrities:
