Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan was hospitalised at Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mumbai after sustaining a severe knee injury on the sets of director Kabir Khan’s upcoming untitled film. The unfortunate accident occurred during the final days of the film’s shooting schedule, while Kartik was performing a complex, high-intensity action sequence.
The untitled movie marks the second collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and filmmaker Kabir Khan following their previous biographical sports drama Chandu Champion. For this project, Kartik had been undergoing rigorous martial arts and physical conditioning training to pull off demanding stunts without double support.
Surgery Recommended by Medical Team
Following the incident on set, Kartik was immediately rushed to the medical facility for evaluation. Upon conducting detailed diagnostic scans, medical specialists advised that the actor undergo knee surgery to repair the damaged tissues. Doctors have strictly recommended a dedicated recovery phase and complete rest following the surgical procedure to allow proper healing before he returns to strenuous physical activities.
Sources close to the production confirmed that Kartik is currently under observation at Fortis Raheja Hospital. While the surgery will momentarily halt his current engagements, production teams are adjusting schedules to ensure the actor receives adequate time for complete rehabilitation.
Upcoming Projects and Future Lineup
Prior to the injury, Kartik was preparing to transition to his next venture—a highly anticipated romantic musical directed by Anurag Basu. Co-starring actress Srileela, who is making her Bollywood debut, the film features music composed by Pritam. Srileela recently resumed her shooting schedule in Mumbai, though Kartik’s schedule will now resume only after full recovery.
In addition to the Anurag Basu directorial, Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming slate remains stacked with major releases. His future projects include a high-profile film backed by Karan Johar, the fantasy-comedy-adventure Naagzilla directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and the aviation drama Captain India, where he portrays a patriotic pilot.
