Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices See Significant Increase

The dawn of the New Year 2026 has brought a notable price adjustment for commercial LPG cylinders across India. Oil marketing companies have announced a substantial hike of ₹111 on 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, effective from January 1, 2026. This increase will be felt in major metropolitan areas, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

Impact on Commercial LPG Cylinder Rates

Following the latest revision, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has risen from ₹1580.50 to ₹1691.50. In Kolkata, consumers will now pay ₹1795, up from the previous ₹1684. Mumbai’s rate for the same cylinder has increased to ₹1642.50, from ₹1531.50. Chennai sees its prices climb to ₹1849.50, an increase from ₹1739.50. This price adjustment is anticipated to directly affect establishments such as hotels, restaurants, and various small businesses.

Domestic Cylinder Prices Remain Stable

In contrast to the commercial sector, the prices for 14 kg domestic LPG cylinders have not undergone any change and remain stable at their April 2025 levels. Currently, a domestic LPG cylinder is available for ₹853 in Delhi, ₹879 in Kolkata, ₹852 in Mumbai, and ₹868 in Chennai.

It is noteworthy that commercial LPG cylinder prices had seen a reduction in December and November of 2025. However, the current increase at the start of the year is expected to potentially lead to higher costs for food and other services.
