Patna on High Alert After Bomb Threats to CM Residence, Bihar Secretariat, and 4 Elite Schools

Date:

Wave of Bomb Threats Triggers Widespread Panic Across Bihar Capital

A severe security crisis gripped the capital city of Bihar on Tuesday after multiple vital installations received bomb threats via suspicious emails. The threat messages specifically targeted the official residence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s residence, the Bihar Secretariat, and four prominent elite schools across Patna. The sudden wave of threats threw the entire state administration and security apparatus into a state of intense activity, prompting immediate emergency response protocols across the capital.

Elite Bomb Squads and Sniffer Dogs Deployed in Massive Search Operations

Immediately following the receipt of the threatening communications, high-level security teams, including the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) units, and specialized Dog Squads, rushed to all the mentioned locations. Law enforcement officials immediately evacuated students and staff members from the four targeted schools—Loyola High School, St. Michael’s High School, St. Xavier’s High School, and DPS Patna. Massive perimeter security was set up around the High-Security Zone near the Secretariat and ministerial quarters while thorough physical and electronic sweeps were conducted.

Police Investigation Underway; Cyber Cell Tracks IP Addresses

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) confirmed that exhaustive search operations were conducted across all specified locations and no explosive devices or suspicious materials were discovered, indicating that the emails were likely part of a coordinated hoax campaign. The Patna Police Cyber Cell, along with state intelligence units, has launched a comprehensive investigation to trace the origin of the threat emails. Officials are analyzing IP addresses, server logs, and digital footprints to identify the perpetrators behind the scare campaign aimed at disrupting civic order.

Heightened Vigilance Across Key Government Infrastructure

Despite the preliminary sweeps yielding no dangerous material, security measures across Patna have been elevated to maximum alert. Access to the Bihar Secretariat, Chief Minister’s office, and ministerial residences has been heavily restricted, with mandatory screening for all visitors and vehicles. Educational institutions have also been advised to maintain heightened surveillance and report any suspicious digital communications or unattended packages directly to the police control room.
