BSNL Celebrates 25th Anniversary with 4G Rollout

On the occasion of BSNL’s 25th anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated more than 97,500 mobile towers, including over 92,600 4G sites across India. This marks a historic moment as BSNL officially launched its indigenous 4G services at 98,000 sites nationwide.

India Joins Elite Nations with Indigenous Telecom Technology

While addressing the event, PM Modi recalled how India once lagged behind during the 2G and 3G era, relying heavily on foreign technologies. Today, however, he expressed pride that India has joined the list of only five countries in the world that have developed their own indigenous telecom technology.

Currently, only Sweden, Denmark, China, and South Korea share this achievement. With BSNL’s contribution, India is now part of this prestigious group.

BSNL 4G Ready for Seamless 5G Upgrade

BSNL’s 4G network has been designed to be easily upgraded to 5G, ensuring future-ready connectivity. Reports suggest that BSNL 5G services will launch in Delhi and Mumbai by the end of this year, offering customers faster speeds and advanced features.

Strengthening Digital India and Connectivity for All

Earlier, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia shared on social media platform X that this initiative will ensure 100% 4G coverage across the country, strengthening digital connectivity for every citizen. He added that this step represents a giant leap towards a self-reliant India, positioning the country as a global leader in the telecom sector.
