Putin’s India Visit: Full Schedule on Day 2 — Summit, Guard-of-Honour & Key Deals

Date:

Morning Ceremonial Welcome & Homage
On the second day of his India visit, Vladimir Putin begins with an official ceremonial welcome at the presidential residence in Delhi at around 9:00 AM, where he will receive a formal guard-of-honour. Shortly after, he will visit Rajghat to pay tribute at the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, showing respect to India’s iconic leader.

Summit at Hyderabad House & High-Level Meetings
At 11:00 AM, Putin will head to Hyderabad House to participate in the 23rd annual India-Russia Summit alongside Narendra Modi. This summit is expected to see the signing of approximately 25 bilateral agreements covering defence, energy, trade, nuclear cooperation, and technology partnerships. In the afternoon, Putin will address the India-Russia Business Forum and meet industry and business leaders to promote trade and investment ties.

Evening State-Banquet and Departure
In the evening, the President of India will host a state banquet in honour of Putin — a mark of diplomatic respect and hospitality. After the state dinner, Putin is scheduled to depart India the same night, concluding a packed and significant 30-hour visit.

Strategic Focus: Defense, Energy, Trade & Long-Term Cooperation
The visit is not just ceremonial — it reflects a broader agenda. Talks are expected to emphasise:

  • Continued defence cooperation and possible upgrades to existing military equipment.

  • Energy and nuclear collaboration, including ongoing civil-nuclear projects.

  • Deepening economic ties, increasing trade volumes, and enhancing cooperation in manufacturing, technology, and labour mobility.

  • Strengthening bilateral investment and business links through private-sector engagements.

This visit marks Putin’s first to India since the war that began in 2022, underscoring renewed efforts to reinforce the long-standing strategic partnership between India and Russia despite growing global tensions.
