Rishabh Pant Bids Farewell to LSG with Emotional Three-Word Message After Delhi Capitals Return

Date:

Pant’s Short Yet Meaningful Goodbye to Lucknow Super Giants

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has officially ended his journey with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after completing a high-profile trade move back to Delhi Capitals (DC). Shortly after the transfer was confirmed, Pant shared an emotional message for his former franchise on social media.

The star cricketer reposted LSG’s farewell post on Instagram and wrote a simple three-word note: “Thank You Team.” Despite being brief, the message quickly gained attention among cricket fans and went viral across social media platforms.

A Record-Breaking Move That Didn’t Go as Planned

Pant joined Lucknow Super Giants before IPL 2025 for a record ₹27 crore, becoming the most expensive player in IPL history at that time. Expectations were extremely high as he was also appointed captain of the franchise.

However, the results did not match expectations. Under Pant’s leadership, LSG struggled in both IPL 2025 and IPL 2026. The team failed to qualify for the playoffs in 2025 and finished at the bottom of the points table in 2026.

Pant’s Performance During His LSG Stint

While Pant showed flashes of brilliance, consistency remained a challenge. He scored 269 runs during IPL 2025 and followed it up with 312 runs in IPL 2026. The franchise and player both hoped for better results, but the partnership never fully delivered on its promise.

Despite the difficult seasons, Pant remained one of the most recognizable faces of the team and continued to enjoy strong fan support.

Return to Delhi Capitals

The trade marks a homecoming for Pant. He spent several successful years with Delhi Capitals before moving to Lucknow. During his first spell with DC, he developed into one of India’s most explosive wicketkeeper-batters and also captained the franchise.

Reports suggest Pant will return to Delhi Capitals on a salary of ₹15 crore, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav moves to Lucknow Super Giants as part of the trade arrangement.

Fans React to Viral Farewell Message

Cricket fans appreciated Pant’s classy farewell gesture. Many praised him for maintaining professionalism and gratitude despite a challenging period with the franchise.

As Pant begins a new chapter with Delhi Capitals, supporters will be eager to see whether a familiar environment helps him rediscover his best form and leadership qualities in the upcoming IPL seasons.
