Shocking Extortion Call Terrifies Hisar Business Community
A wave of panic and deep concern has swept across the business community in Hisar, Haryana, following a massive extortion demand targeting prominent factory owner Anand Goyal. According to details shared with local law enforcement, the industrialist and his family received threatening communications demanding a staggering sum of Rs 5 crore. The brazen nature of the threat, delivered directly via modern communication channels, has spotlighted the rising vulnerability of local entrepreneurs and merchants operating in the region. Trade associations have expressed profound alarm, pointing out that repeated targeting of business families points toward an organized criminal syndicate attempting to instill fear.
Details of the Threat Linked to a Notorious Gang
Victim Anand Goyal, a resident of Urban Estate, reported that the chilling incident occurred while he was present at his factory located in Chaudharywas village alongside his sons. The extortionist utilized an international WhatsApp number to place the call, explicitly invoking the name of a notorious criminal gang to intimidate the family. The caller subjected the businessman to abusive language, warning that failure to pay the Rs 5 crore extortion amount would result in dire consequences, including the elimination of the entire family. Following the live call, the perpetrators also followed up with recorded voice messages reiterating the fatal threats, intensifying the psychological pressure on the victim and his relatives.
Police Investigation and Growing Trade Body Outrage
This alarming incident follows a similar extortion threat made against another prominent businessman, Pramod Goyal, just weeks prior, heightening fears of a coordinated pattern targeting members of the same business family. In response to the escalating threats, Haryana Pradesh Beopar Mandal President Bajrang Garg visited the affected family to offer support and strongly condemned the breakdown of safety for traders. The trade body has issued a stern ultimatum to local authorities, demanding the swift arrest of the culprits and a complete dismantling of the extortion network. Meanwhile, local police authorities, led by the Superintendent of Police, have registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) and launched a comprehensive multi-angle probe. Preliminary forensic voice analysis suggests the caller may be misusing a gang name, but investigators are leaving no stone unturned to track down the suspects and ensure foolproof security for industrial areas.
