Twisha Sharma Death Case: Friend Alleges Delay in FIR, Protest Held at Jantar Mantar

Date:

Family and Friends Demand Justice for Twisha Sharma

The death of Twisha Sharma, a former model and content creator from Noida, has triggered nationwide outrage. Twisha was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12, 2026, just five months after her marriage to Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh.

Her family and friends have alleged that she was subjected to mental harassment, dowry pressure, and emotional abuse after marriage. They claim that influential connections delayed police action and weakened the initial investigation.

To demand justice, Twisha’s relatives and close friends organized a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, calling for a CBI investigation and a fresh post-mortem examination at All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Friend Makes Serious Allegations

One of Twisha Sharma’s close friends claimed that the First Information Report (FIR) was not registered for three days due to the alleged influence of the accused family. The friend stated that the delay may have given the accused time to alter evidence and weaken the case.

Protesters carried placards reading “Justice for Twisha” and accused the husband and mother-in-law of dowry harassment and murder. They also expressed concern over procedural lapses in the investigation and autopsy process.

Autopsy Findings Raise More Questions

The post-mortem conducted at AIIMS Bhopal concluded that Twisha died due to “antemortem hanging by ligature.” However, the report also noted multiple injuries on her body, which were sustained before death.

A major controversy arose when it was revealed that the ligature material allegedly used in the hanging was not initially provided to forensic experts during the autopsy. This omission has raised questions about whether standard procedures were properly followed.

Twisha’s family has refused to perform her last rites until an independent investigation is conducted and a second post-mortem is carried out in Delhi.

Final Messages Suggested Emotional Distress

Twisha’s last WhatsApp and Instagram conversations with friends revealed that she was deeply distressed. In one message, she wrote that she felt “trapped” and advised her friend not to rush into marriage.

These messages have become an important part of the public discussion, as they appear to indicate that she was struggling emotionally in her marriage and felt isolated.

Legal Proceedings Continue

Police have registered a case against husband Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh under provisions related to dowry death and harassment under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Samarth Singh is reportedly absconding, while Giribala Singh has obtained anticipatory bail. A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to examine all aspects of the case.

The family has also alleged that Twisha was pressured to terminate a pregnancy and transfer financial assets worth nearly ₹20 lakh. These allegations are now part of the broader investigation.

Public Demands for a Fair Investigation

The case has sparked widespread attention on social media and in the national press. Many are demanding that the investigation be transferred to an independent agency to ensure transparency and accountability.

Friends and family continue to insist that only a fair and unbiased probe can reveal the truth behind Twisha Sharma’s tragic death.
