Kia Seltos Facelift Set for Launch with Enhanced Safety and Design Updates

Date:

Kia Motors India is poised to introduce the new generation Kia Seltos on January 2. This updated mid-size SUV, previously revealed on December 10, features significant enhancements to its interior and exterior design, alongside substantial upgrades aimed at boosting its competitiveness within the compact SUV segment.

Advanced Safety and Interior Innovations

Safety is a key focus for the 2026 Kia Seltos, incorporating 21 Autonomous Level-2 Advanced Driving Assist System (ADAS) features. These include Smart Cruise Control, Front Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Parking Collision Avoidance Assist Reverse, and a Blind View Monitor integrated into the cluster. The vehicle also comes standard with six airbags, front, side, and rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a 360-degree camera system.

Inside, the new Seltos boasts several new features, such as dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital driver display, complemented by a 5-inch screen positioned between them. Additional amenities include a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat with memory settings, front and rear dashcams, dual-zone auto AC, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, front seat ventilation, 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, and connected car technology.

Refined Design, Dimensions, and Powertrain Options

The exterior of the new generation Kia Seltos adopts the company’s latest design theme, giving it a more distinctive, bolder, sharper, and premium appearance compared to its predecessor. Built on the K3 platform, the SUV has grown in size, now measuring 95mm longer and 30mm wider, with an 80mm increase in wheelbase. While its height has been reduced by 10mm, the boot space has expanded by 14 liters, making it one of the largest vehicles in its segment at 4.4 meters in length.

Under the hood, the 2026 Kia Seltos maintains its mechanical foundation but offers three engine choices and five transmission options. A new 1.5-liter 4-cylinder Turbo GDI petrol engine delivers 160 PS of power and 253 NM of torque, paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. A 1.5-liter 4-cylinder Advanced Smartstream Normal Petrol engine produces 115 PS and 144 NM of torque, available with a 6-speed manual (6MT) or IVT automatic gearbox. Furthermore, a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder Refined CRDi VGT diesel engine provides 116 PS of power and 250 NM of torque, coupled with 6iMT and 6AT gearbox options.

Bookings for the new 2026 Kia Seltos have already commenced, with an initial deposit of ₹25,000, available online or offline. The vehicle is expected to have a starting ex-showroom price of ₹11.20 lakh and will compete with models such as the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
