Rising Crime Creates Fear Among Residents
A growing number of robbery and snatching incidents in Ludhiana has sparked concern among residents and especially among food delivery riders who often work late at night. In recent weeks, several delivery workers and local residents have reported being targeted by armed robbers in different parts of the city.

Delivery Riders Organize for Their Own Safety
To protect themselves, dozens of delivery riders created a WhatsApp group where they share live locations and alert one another whenever they suspect danger. This community-based effort has helped riders stay connected while working in isolated areas during the night.
Late one night, a rider identified as Manjot Singh, also known as Goldy, noticed that several suspicious men were following him in the Dugri area of Ludhiana. He immediately informed other members of the group and shared his live location.
Riders Chase and Detain Suspects
Within minutes, around 40 delivery riders reached the area and surrounded the suspects. According to reports, the men were carrying sharp weapons and were believed to be involved in several recent snatching incidents.
The riders managed to catch four of the suspects and handed them over to the police. Their quick response prevented what could have been another violent robbery.
The dramatic incident has attracted widespread attention, with many residents praising the riders for their courage and unity.
Police Begin Investigation
Police officials have started investigating whether the detained youths are linked to previous robberies and chain-snatching cases in Ludhiana. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed, and the suspects are being questioned.
