‘Killing Him Was Easier Than Facing Family’: Fiancée Siya Goyal’s Shocking Confession in Pune Fort Murder Case

Date:

Premeditated Murder Disguised as a Trekking Accident

The investigation into the tragic death of Pune-based businessman Ketan Agarwal has taken a chilling turn. Originally reported as a fatal accidental fall during a trekking expedition at Lohagad Fort in Pune, police have now unmasked it as a cold-blooded, planned murder. The prime accused, Ketan’s fiancée Siya Goyal, allegedly made a startling confession to investigators, admitting that she orchestrated the crime because she did not want to marry him. According to the police, Siya stated that killing her fiancé felt “easier” than breaking off the engagement and confronting the immense social pressure from her family.

A Six-Month Conspiracy and Over 2,000 Phone Calls

The Pune police have uncovered deep tactical planning between Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, who is the co-accused in the case. Investigators revealed that the duo had been plotting the murder for nearly six months. Call detail records (CDR) show that the two suspects exchanged more than 2,000 phone calls, totaling a staggering 238 hours of conversation during this period. On the day of the crime, the duo allegedly met at a local café to finalize the execution details and pinpoint the exact spot at Lohagad Fort where the fatal push would happen.

The Secret Code and Execution at Lohagad Fort

According to the police, the murder was executed with calculating precision during their visit to the historic fort. Investigators claim that Siya gave a pre-arranged physical signal to Chetan Chaudhary by sitting down near the edge of a cliff. Taking this cue, Chetan stealthily approached Ketan Agarwal from behind and pushed him into a deep, rocky gorge. While both suspects initially tried to mislead the authorities by framing the incident as a slip-and-fall accident, sustained interrogation exposed major gaps in their timelines, leading to their eventual confession.

Victim’s Family Rejects Hair Patch Allegation

As the investigation deepens, minor details have sparked further friction. During questioning, Siya allegedly claimed that she disliked Ketan because he wore a hair patch or wig. However, the victim’s father, Vishal Agarwal, completely rejected this as a valid motive. He revealed that their family had fully informed Siya’s parents about Ketan’s hair patch before the formal engagement took place. Stating that “wearing a wig cannot be a reason to kill my son,” the grieving family has demanded the strictest punishment and a fast-tracked trial for the accused.

Maharashtra Government Steps In to Fast-Track Trial

The shocking nature of the crime has drawn high-profile political intervention in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently held a personal meeting with Ketan’s father, assuring him that justice would be served swiftly. The state government has officially moved the case to a fast-track court to avoid judicial delays. Furthermore, top senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam has been appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor. Terming the incident a “disturbing social trend,” Fadnavis emphasized that the case signals a deeper necessity for societal reflection.
