Barnala Police Conduct Intensive Search Operation at District Jail

Date:

Barnala police have stepped up their efforts against anti-social elements and drug traffickers across the district in anticipation of January 26. As part of these intensified measures, an extensive two-hour search operation was recently conducted at the Barnala District Jail.

Command and Objectives of the Operation

The comprehensive search was carried out under the leadership of senior police officials from the district. Key personnel involved included Barnala SP Ashok Kumar Sharma, Jail Superintendent Shivraj Singh Nandgarh, DSP Satbir Singh Bains, and teams from the CIA staff along with other Barnala police units. The operation involved a thorough inspection of the entire jail premises, including the barracks where prisoners are housed.

Officials stated that regular search operations are a standard practice within the jail. This specific campaign was undertaken following directives from the DGP Punjab and Barnala District SSP Mohammed Sarfraz Alam. The primary goal of the operation was to ensure that no external individuals could facilitate the entry of drugs, mobile phones, or engage in any form of anti-social activity with the incarcerated individuals.

Ongoing Security Measures and Future Plans

Authorities also confirmed that robust security arrangements, including various barricades, have been established throughout the Barnala district. These measures are designed to deter anti-social elements from carrying out their activities.

Jail Superintendent Shivraj Singh Nandgarh affirmed that such intensive search operations would continue periodically. He also noted that previous searches at Barnala Jail had resulted in action being taken against several individuals found in possession of drugs and mobile phones. The ongoing objective of the Barnala police through these operations is to prevent prisoners from receiving contraband, including mobile phones and drugs, and to curb anti-social activities originating from outside the jail.
