A shocking theft incident has come to light from Jalandhar, where thieves targeted a house while the family was away attending a wedding. The incident has raised serious concerns about residential security in the area. According to reports, the accused managed to break into the house and escape with gold ornaments, silver items, and cash worth thousands.
How the Theft Happened
The victim, identified as Reema, stated that her family had gone to attend a wedding in a nearby area. Upon returning home, they noticed something unusual. Their suspicion deepened when they found that the CCTV camera installed outside the house was missing.
When the family entered the house, they discovered that the DVR system had also been stolen. The cupboards were left open, and all belongings were scattered, indicating a planned and thorough theft.
Stolen Items and Loss
According to the victim, the thieves stole approximately 5 tolas of gold, silver jewelry, and around ₹50,000 in cash. These valuables belonged to her mother and sister-in-law and were stored safely in the cupboard before the incident.
The loss has deeply affected the family, especially since the valuables were associated with recent family events, including a wedding held just eight months ago.
Suspicion on Local Youth
The family suspects a local युवक (youth) who allegedly has a history of theft in the neighborhood. Residents claimed that the same individual has been involved in multiple similar incidents in the past and is reportedly addicted to drugs.

Police have assured strict action and urged residents to remain vigilant.
Rising Crime Concerns
