Police Tighten Crackdown Against Drugs and Crime in Ludhiana

In a major anti-drug operation, the Punjab Police intensified its campaign against drug abuse and criminal activities in Ludhiana. Acting on repeated complaints from local residents, police officials demolished abandoned and dilapidated rooms that had allegedly become safe hideouts for drug addicts and anti-social elements.

The operation was carried out in Jagdish Nagar and along the Budha Dariya area under Division Number-7 police station limits. Heavy police force remained deployed throughout the action to avoid any untoward incident. JCB machines were used to completely raze the illegal structures that had reportedly become centers for drug consumption and unlawful activities.

Residents Were Living in Fear Due to Illegal Activities

According to local residents, these abandoned structures had been used for a long time by drug addicts and criminals. People living nearby had been facing constant fear, insecurity, and disturbance because of suspicious activities in the area.

Residents had repeatedly submitted written and verbal complaints to the police administration demanding strict action. Taking the matter seriously, police officials launched a planned operation early in the morning and demolished the structures within a short time.

The sudden police action created panic among anti-social elements operating in the area. Authorities stated that the move was aimed at restoring safety and improving the living conditions of residents who had suffered due to the illegal activities.

ACP Raj Kumar Reveals Plan for Temporary Police Post

During the operation, ACP Raj Kumar informed media officials that the anti-drug campaign would be strengthened further in the coming days. He revealed that the administration is planning to establish a temporary police post near Budha Dariya to maintain strict surveillance on criminal activities in the area.

The proposal will reportedly be discussed with the local MLA soon so that necessary arrangements, including land and funding, can be finalized quickly. Officials believe that a permanent police presence will help prevent criminals and drug peddlers from regrouping in the locality.

Police Warn Criminals of Strict Future Action

ACP Raj Kumar and SHO Gagandeep Malhotra issued a stern warning to drug traffickers and anti-social elements. They stated that the primary goal of the police is to eliminate drugs and crime completely from the area.

Officials also clarified that this demolition drive is only the beginning. Similar action will continue against illegal hideouts and criminal hubs in different parts of the city in the future. Police authorities emphasized that no illegal structure sheltering criminal activities would be spared.

Following the operation, local residents expressed relief and appreciated the prompt action taken by the police administration. Many people welcomed the move and demanded that such operations continue regularly to ensure public safety and a drug-free environment in the city.
