JSW MG Motor India Teases Upcoming 7-Seater Flagship Electric SUV
JSW MG Motor India has officially released the first teaser for its upcoming flagship seven-seater electric vehicle, the MG Hector Hawk EV. Marking a monumental shift in the automaker’s electric mobility strategy in India, the new SUV is scheduled to make its official public debut on August 26, 2026. Alongside the official teaser release, MG Motor India has opened bookings for the flagship electric SUV across its dealerships and digital platforms for a token amount of ₹21,000. Based on international architecture and adapted specifically for Indian road conditions, the Hector Hawk EV promises to combine spacious three-row seating with modern zero-emission performance.
Built on the Breakthrough Modular ADAPT Platform
The most significant technical highlight of the MG Hector Hawk EV is its underlying architecture. It is the very first production model from MG to be built on the brand’s newly introduced ADAPT platform (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology). This modular multi-energy platform has been engineered to accommodate pure electric powertrains (BEVs), plug-in hybrid systems (PHEVs), and range-extender setups. Shared globally with the Wuling Starlight 560, the platform offers structural flexibility and high safety standards. While MG has confirmed that the fully electric version will be the first to arrive on Indian shores, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant with over 1,000 km of combined range will follow shortly after.
Striking Exterior Design and Spacious 3-Row Silhouette
The teaser image and pre-production spyshots offer a clear view of the Hector Hawk EV’s commanding road presence. Standing at nearly 4.75 metres in length with a generous 2,810 mm wheelbase, the SUV features a bold, upright stance designed primarily for large families. The front fascia gets an aerodynamic closed-off grille signaling its EV nature, anchored by an illuminated MG badge and sharp, rectangular LED headlamps paired with slim daytime running lights (DRLs). Additional styling elements include thick lower body cladding, roof rails, dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels, and a full-width connected LED tail lamp cluster at the rear.
Powertrain, Battery Pack, Fast Charging, and Driving Range
Underneath the floorboard, the Hector Hawk EV is equipped with a high-density 69.2 kWh battery pack. This battery powers a front-mounted electric motor capable of generating an estimated 204 PS of maximum power and 310 Nm of instant torque. JSW MG claims that this setup will deliver an impressive single-charge driving range of up to 530 km under test conditions. The electric SUV also supports DC fast-charging technology, allowing the battery to replenish from 30 percent to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes. This makes long-distance highway cruising convenient for family travel.
Tech-Laden Cabin Features, Safety Equipment, and Market Competition
Inside, the Hector Hawk EV gets a feature-packed seven-seat cabin with bench seating across all three rows. The center console is dominated by a large 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display running MG’s latest connected car tech, alongside an 8.8-inch fully digital instrument cluster for the driver. Premium comfort amenities include a panoramic glass sunroof, ventilated front seats, multi-zone automatic climate control, and wireless charging. Safety is anchored by a 360-degree surround camera, multiple airbags, and a full Level 2 ADAS suite. With an expected price range between ₹18 lakh and ₹24 lakh, the Hector Hawk EV will directly challenge rivals like the Tata Harrier EV, Tata Safari EV, and Mahindra XEV 9E upon launch.
