Shambhu–Ambala Rail Track Blast Case Solved: 4 Arrested with Weapons

Date:

Terror Module Busted by Patiala Police

In a major breakthrough, Patiala Police have solved the Shambhu–Ambala railway track blast case within just 12 hours. The investigation revealed the involvement of a cross-border terror module allegedly operating under the direction of Pakistan’s intelligence agency.

Police officials confirmed that four accused individuals were arrested during the operation. Authorities also recovered a large cache of weapons, explosives, and modern communication devices from their possession. The swift action prevented potential large-scale damage and highlighted the efficiency of the state’s intelligence and policing network.

Accused Linked to Extremist Ideology

According to police sources, the arrested individuals have been identified as Pradeep Singh Khalsa (main handler), Kulwinder Singh Banga, Satnam Singh Satta, and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi.

Officials revealed that the suspects were influenced by extremist ideologies and were associated with a group reportedly operating from abroad. They were in direct contact with handlers based in Pakistan and Malaysia, indicating a well-coordinated international network behind the plot.

Role in Railway Track Blast

During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the explosion that occurred on the night of April 27 on the Shambhu–Ambala railway route. The blast caused damage to the railway track and disrupted rail services temporarily.

The primary objective of the attackers was to target critical infrastructure, including railway lines and public spaces, to spread panic and destabilize peace in the region. Authorities believe the timely arrest has prevented further planned attacks.

Weapons and Explosives Recovered

Police recovered a live bomb, two pistols (.30 bore and .32 bore), and equipment used for manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Additionally, laptops and other digital tools used for communication with foreign handlers were seized.

A case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act. The accused are currently under police remand, and further investigation is underway to uncover additional links and possible targets.

Security Concerns and Investigation Ahead

The incident has raised serious concerns regarding railway security and cross-border terror activities. Authorities have intensified security checks at major railway stations across Punjab.

Investigators are now focusing on tracing the broader network, identifying additional operatives, and analyzing digital evidence to prevent future threats.
