Jhansi Shooting Case: Mother Demands Death Penalty After 19-Year-Old Daughter Shot Dead by Stalker

Date:

Tragic Incident Shocks Siddheshwar Nagar in Jhansi

In a chilling incident of violence in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, an obsession-driven crime took the life of a 19-year-old girl named Chanchal. The tragic event unfolded in the Siddheshwar Nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Sipri Bazar police station on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Kamal, barged into the victim’s house and shot her point-blank in the chest before fleeing the spot. Chanchal collapsed in a pool of blood and succumbed to her critical injuries before she could reach the hospital for medical care. The violent killing triggered panic and heavy grief across the local neighborhood.

Swift Police Action and 5-Hour Encounter Arrest

Following the brutal murder, the Sipri Bazar police along with the SWAT team and NDRF personnel swung into action, launching an extensive joint combing operation across the area. Demonstrating prompt operational response, the police traced the perpetrator within five hours of the crime. During the search operation, an encounter broke out between the fleeing suspect and the police team. Kamal sustained a bullet wound in his leg during the exchange of fire and was promptly apprehended by the authorities before being taken into custody.

“Leg-Shot Encounter Is Not Enough”: Father Demands Capital Punishment

While the quick action by law enforcement brought the perpetrator behind bars within hours, the victim’s grieving family remains dissatisfied with partial measures. Speaking to reporters, Chanchal’s father, Sonu, acknowledged the dedication shown by the police team in apprehending the killer rapidly. However, he emphasized that injuring the accused in an encounter does not offer true closure to a devastated family. Sonu asserted that justice would remain incomplete until the perpetrator receives the death penalty from the court.

Heartbroken Mother Appeals to PM Modi and CM Yogi

The scene at the victim’s home remained agonizing as Chanchal’s mother, Sapna, broke down uncontrollably while holding her deceased daughter. Overcome with grief and anguish, Sapna made a direct plea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She demanded immediate capital punishment for the murderer, stating that a mere injury in a police encounter brings no comfort to a grieving mother. In her intense grief, Sapna demanded that she be allowed to face the killer or see him executed by law for taking her innocent daughter’s life.

Current Investigation and Area Tension

The Jhansi police completed the initial inquest formalities (Panchayatnama) and dispatched the body for a detailed post-mortem examination. Senior officers stated that additional stringent legal sections would be invoked against the accused once the post-mortem report is officially received. Meanwhile, a heavy police presence has been maintained in Siddheshwar Nagar to prevent any escalation, as widespread grief and anger continue to prevail among residents demanding strict exemplary punishment for the culprit.
