Contestant Rachit Uppal Misses Out on ₹1 Crore

Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, continues to grab attention. Recently, contestant Rachit Uppal reached the hot seat and answered questions correctly up to the ₹50 lakh mark. However, he gave an incorrect answer to the ₹1 crore question and took home only ₹5 lakh.

The ₹1 Crore Question

The ₹1 crore question was:
“The deepest underwater rescue to date took place in 1973. Two men were rescued from a submersible that got trapped nearly half a kilometer underwater. What was the name of that submersible?”

Options:
A. Consul
B. PISCES III
C. DSV-2 Alvin
D. Neptune IV

Rachit used the 50:50 lifeline, leaving options B and D. After some thought, he chose option D (Neptune IV). Amitabh Bachchan then informed him that the correct answer was PISCES III, resulting in Rachit dropping to ₹5 lakh.

₹25 Lakh and ₹50 Lakh Questions

The ₹25 lakh question was:
“In 2025, who became the youngest winner of the National Film Award?”

Options:
A. Trisha Thosar
B. Harshaali Malhotra
C. Sara Arjun
D. Zaira Wasim

Rachit used the Audience Poll lifeline and correctly chose Trisha Thosar.

For ₹50 lakh, the question was:
“Which of these minerals got its current name from a French village where it was first discovered?”

Options:
A. Magnetite
B. Epsomite
C. Bauxite
D. Danburite

Rachit answered correctly with C. Bauxite.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Heartwarming Conversation

During the show, Amitabh Bachchan discussed Rachit’s journey as a father. When asked if he gets enough sleep after becoming a parent, Rachit replied, “Life has completely changed. Thanks to my wife for managing everything. Fathers don’t go through what mothers do, but responsibilities increase. Seeing my baby’s face removes all my tiredness.”
