Punjab Government Launches Emergency Support for Stranded Punjabis

Chandigarh – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken decisive action to support Punjabis stuck in Arab countries amid escalating conflict in the Middle East. With news of flights suspended, heightened tensions, and Indian nationals facing hardships abroad, the state government has established a 24-hour helpline and control room to assist those in distress.

In a press briefing on March 2, 2026, CM Mann said that the Punjab government is working round-the-clock to provide help and is in constant touch with the Government of India to ensure safe repatriation of the stranded individuals. The helpline aims to provide immediate support, guidance, and coordination for families trying to locate or assist their loved ones overseas.

24×7 Helpline Numbers and WhatsApp Support

To offer real-time assistance, the Punjab government has released dedicated contact numbers that will be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:

📞 0172-2260042

📞 0172-2260043

💬 WhatsApp: +91 94787 79112

People with family members, friends, or relatives stranded in Arab nations can use these numbers to report their situation and request support.

Government Support and Ongoing Efforts

CM Mann reassured the public that the state is fully committed to supporting Punjabis abroad. He expressed solidarity with families and students currently stranded due to the ongoing geopolitical tensions. The government is coordinating closely with federal authorities to monitor the situation and push for safe evacuation plans.

Officials are urging all affected individuals or families to reach out to the helpline for assistance ranging from emergency information and embassy coordination to repatriation guidance. The Punjab government has also emphasized that it will continue to work with central agencies to facilitate swift and secure returns for its citizens caught in unstable regions.
