The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has delivered another pre-Diwali gift by distributing ₹6.3 crore in compensation to flood-affected families under the ‘Mission Punervaas’ (Rehabilitation Mission). A total of 12 Cabinet Ministers distributed approval letters for the relief amount across 14 districts of the state.
Statewide Relief Drive Launched by CM Bhagwant Mann
On October 13, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched the state-wide relief campaign from Ajnala by distributing ₹5.70 crore to 631 affected families. The Mann government ensured compensation was provided ahead of the 45-day deadline—offering ₹20,000 per acre for crop losses, up to ₹1.20 lakh for damaged houses, and financial aid for livestock losses.
Ministers Distributed Relief Funds Across Punjab

Aman Arora, Cabinet Minister and AAP Punjab President, distributed ₹66 lakh among 80 affected families in SAS Nagar.

Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Security, Women & Child Development, distributed ₹1.05 crore in Fazilka for crop and house damage and later handed out ₹16.88 lakh in Malout’s flood-affected villages — Lakkarwala, Thehri, and Shergarh.

Dr. Balbir Singh, along with MLA Gurlal Ghanaur, handed ₹88 lakh in compensation letters to 232 farmers in Patiala’s flood-hit villages.

In Bhoa region, Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk distributed ₹31 lakh to 130 affected families.

Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar began the compensation process in Kapurthala’s villages, including Kishan Singh Wala.

Public Works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. provided ₹59 lakh to 138 flood-affected families in Gurdaspur.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian distributed over ₹16 lakh to 57 farmers in Fatehwala (Ferozepur). He also provided ₹99.20 lakh to 254 farmers in Nihala Lavera and ₹6.60 lakh to 37 farmers in Kamalwala.
