“Public is Another Form of God”: Sonu Sood Slams Kangana Ranaut Over ‘Generation Gutter’ Remark

Date:

The Controversial ‘Generation Gutter’ Comment by Kangana Ranaut

Bollywood actress and BJP Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut has once again stirred a massive controversy with her harsh critique of Gen Z student protesters. Following recent youth-led demonstrations over educational reforms and exam transparency, Kangana took to her social media handles to express disgust over the language and conduct of the young protesters. Labelling the current youth as “Generation Gutter,” she criticized their lifestyle, calling them disrespectful and spoiled. Her sharp commentary immediately triggered severe backlash across social media platforms, with student unions and political figures condemning her choice of words.

Sonu Sood’s Firm Response and Respect for the Youth

In response to Kangana’s derogatory remarks, actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood voiced his strong disapproval, calling the comments “extremely shameful.” Speaking to the media, Sonu emphasized that celebrities and public representatives must exercise caution and humility when speaking about the nation’s youth. He reminded public figures that actors and politicians owe their stardom and positions entirely to the love and support of the general public. “The public is another form of God, and the youth are the backbone of our country. Calling them names is entirely unacceptable,” Sonu stated, adding that the audience is the sole force that elevates an artist to fame or brings them down.

Guidance for Public Figures and Young Protesters

While condemning the offensive language used against student demonstrators, Sonu Sood also offered balanced advice for both public figures and protesting students. He urged celebrities to handle public discourse with grace and maintain the dignity of their positions. Addressing the youth, Sonu advised them to remain vigilant during peaceful protests so that anti-social elements do not hijack their genuine causes or misguide their movement. He stressed that constructive dialogue between the government and the younger generation is essential for the nation’s progress, emphasizing that the voices of Gen Z should be heard with empathy rather than dismissed with insults.
