Fuel-Saving Appeal Amid Global Economic Uncertainty
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again appealed to citizens to adopt fuel-saving habits and reduce unnecessary spending as global tensions continue to affect economies worldwide. Addressing a public gathering in Gujarat’s Vadodara, PM Modi urged people to take “small but meaningful resolutions” in the national interest.
The Prime Minister’s statement came amid rising concerns over the ongoing West Asia conflict and its possible impact on fuel prices, imports, and India’s foreign exchange reserves. He said that every citizen can contribute by making small lifestyle changes that reduce fuel consumption and support the economy.
PM Modi Encourages Work From Home And Online Classes
During his address, PM Modi strongly encouraged both government and private offices to prioritize virtual meetings and work-from-home arrangements wherever possible. He also suggested that schools and educational institutions conduct online classes if feasible.
According to the Prime Minister, digital technology can help reduce travel, save fuel, and improve efficiency. He emphasized that India now has the technological infrastructure to support remote work and virtual communication on a large scale.
He stated that citizens should make better use of technology to minimize unnecessary travel and fuel usage. The Prime Minister also highlighted that remote working models had proven effective in recent years and could again help the nation during challenging global situations.
Citizens Asked To Reduce Petrol And Diesel Usage
PM Modi urged people to limit the use of petrol and diesel as much as possible. He advised citizens to prefer metro services, electric buses, and public transportation over private vehicles.
The Prime Minister also promoted carpooling, saying that people traveling in the same direction should share rides whenever possible. According to him, such small efforts can collectively reduce fuel consumption significantly.
He further appealed to offices to reduce physical meetings and instead rely on virtual communication tools. Experts have often noted that increased remote work and shared transportation can help reduce traffic congestion and fuel demand.
PM Modi Advises Citizens To Avoid Gold Purchases Temporarily
In another important appeal, the Prime Minister requested citizens to postpone gold purchases until global conditions stabilize. He explained that India spends a significant amount of foreign exchange on gold imports every year.
PM Modi said that reducing gold imports temporarily would help conserve the country’s financial resources during uncertain economic times. He stressed that citizens should focus on essential spending and avoid unnecessary luxury purchases until the global situation improves.
‘Vocal For Local’ Push Gets Renewed
The Prime Minister also renewed his “Vocal for Local” campaign and encouraged people to purchase Indian-made products instead of imported goods. He said supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs would strengthen the domestic economy and generate employment opportunities.
PM Modi further urged people to organize weddings and celebrations within India instead of choosing foreign destinations. According to him, India offers world-class destinations and citizens should contribute to the local tourism industry.
He also called on villagers and farmers to adopt natural farming methods and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.
